Admissions Procedures

Welcome to The Christian Academy’s Admissions page—we’re delighted that you are seeking a Christian education for your family.

The academy’s mission is “to partner with Christian parents…” and we take that partnering seriously.  For over 60 years The Christian Academy has partnered with thousands of parents like yourselves to help educate and mold children to go out into the world and radically influence their community for Christ and His glory.  The Apostle Paul charges families to “bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord (Eph. 6:4b).  So we are here to assist you in the equipping of your family.

Enrollment Process:

In order to begin the process of looking at our academy with greater detail, we require that all prospective families first set up a time for a campus visit.  I like to spend between an hour and an hour and-a-half to get everyone better acquainted with TCA.  Essentially we want you to test drive the car before you buy it.  Call or email me to set a date.  My hours are Mon. – Fri. 7:30am – 3:30pm.

After the visit, if you desire to proceed further, the next step is to go to the Admissions Procedures pull down and download the admissions FORMS.  Mail all relevant forms and accompanying information to the school with the application fee.

If you seek to apply for our Fisher Scholarships as well, please do the same and download those forms to be completed.  Mail along with the application forms.

The next step is to register for an entrance exam.  After I have received the forms I will contact you to set up a test that will take place after school on selected days.  Students entering K or 1st grade will receive a Gesell Assessment Test to check for readiness.  Students entering grades 2nd – 12th will receive a test measuring reading level, math and grammar skills, as well as writing aptitude.  We require students to be reading at if not above grade level.  I will contact you within a week of the test date to inform you of the exam results, and if everything is in order to proceed, to set up an interview with the principal.  You will also know at that time the results of your Fisher Scholarship application.

The final step in the enrollment process is the principal’s interview, which is an opportunity for the academy to partner as a Christian school with each Christian family.  We require that all students entering grades 6-12 be present at the interview.  Younger students may come if you so desire.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by phone or email.  I will be happy to help guide you through this important process.  God bless!
