Early Childhood

Preschool (Full Day or 1/2 Day)
We believe preschoolers learn best through play-based activities. Our Early Childhood program with classes for 3 and 4 year old students creates a safe, Christ-centered environment for children to learn by exploring and enjoying the world with friends. Learning is brought to life as our preschool teachers lead students through a colorful curriculum that sparks each child's imagination, fosters a Christian worldview, and inspires him or her to be a life-long learner prepared for elementary school and beyond. Core subjects include: Bible, mathematics, reading, spelling, grammar, writing, social studies, and science. Students also have weekly specials which include library time, art class, and music lessons.
Phonics-Based Reading Instruction
TCA's elementary teachers use systematic, phonics-based reading instruction to build confident, capable readers. Students learn to decode language through structured patterns and sounds, developing the skills they need to engage deeply with texts, stories, and ideas across every subject.
Handwriting in Core Curriculum
Handwriting and cursive are woven into our core curriculum because we believe the work of forming letters by hand matters. Research shows that handwriting strengthens memory, improves fine motor skills, and deepens learning in ways typing cannot replicate. When students practice cursive, they develop patience, attention to detail, and a connection to written tradition that honors both the mind and the hand.
Commitment to Physical Activity
Children flourish when they have space to run, climb, jump, and play. Our elementary students enjoy recess twice each day, regular gym classes, and twice-weekly intramural games during lunch and recess. Through generous time for movement and play, students develop coordination, teamwork, and confidence while building friendships and discovering what their bodies can do.
