Admissions

International Students

The Christian Academy is SEVIS approved and can issue I-20s to all international students that qualify for enrollment. We currently have students from South Korea and China.

If you are an international parent or student interested in learning more about a Christian education, please contact Jonathan Ekeland at jekeland@tca-pa.org.

TCA has partnered with both AHLI (American Home Life International) and AICEI (American International Cultural Exchange Institute) to bring in students from China, Korea and Japan.

Base tuition for international students for the 2016- 2017 school year is $11,767. Depending which agency is used, additional expenses are needed to cover things such as: ELL/ESL, host family stipend, agency costs, field trips, retreats, and other items. Please refer to AHLI and AICEI respectively regarding additional expenses (amhomelife.org or hannahfu2000@yahoo.com).

Both AHLI and AICEI provide:

  • Christian Host family guaranteed for each student.
  • Apply students to educational programs, private schools.
  • Provide I-20 document and support letters for F1 visa interview.
  • Student coordinator at school, provides orientation, support, monthly meetings/status reports for every student.
  • English Language Learning support.
  • Student insurance.

English Language Proficiency Admissions Standards

Prospective International students (non-native English speakers) should take one of the recognized English language proficiency tests listed below to show their ability to understand, speak, read, and write English.  We highly recommend that students take the TOFEL Jr., Standard test as it is an excellent measure of English proficiency for students ages 11-16.  The English Language proficiency score is one important measure, but not the only measure, in determining whether a student will be successful at TCA.
