FACULTY & STAFF

Cheri Andrews

Physical Education Teacher

I’ve been at TCA for several years after teaching developmental reading to middle school students in Indiana. I graduated from Taylor University with a degree in Health and Physical Education and a minor in English and have done graduate work at West Chester University. I love coming to work every day because every day is different with its own challenges and joys. Every student that has crossed my path is unique and is valued in God’s eyes and I am grateful to have watched them grow through their struggles into Godly caring adults. How fun it has been to now get to teach some of their children! I appreciate working alongside teachers with a caring heart for every child that enters the doors of TCA. I’m an animal lover and my 96 year old mother and I share my home with Samuel Joseph, a 1 year old puppy, and cats Trooper, Peaches and Buster Allen. The rest of my family live in South Carolina. The beach is my happy place but lately Gatlinburg, TN has stolen my heart with its hometown charm and beauty. In my free time, I enjoy going to yard sales, landscaping, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and any type of water sports. I’m a huge college sports fan and my teams are the Florida Gators and Clemson Tigers. I’m looking forward to being back in person with the students and teachers!

Ruth Brittain

Middle School Math, Science and Bible Teacher

I’m thrilled to return to TCA in a full time capacity this year working with our Concurrent Learning program in addition to filling in as a Sub and working with the Drama Department as I’ve done for the past several years. This is my silver anniversary as an educator and, while I’ve retired from classroom teaching for the past 21 years to raise my own family, I’ve kept busy gaining experience on 3 continents teaching ESL, Bible, Fitness, Drama & Outdoor Education classes as well as working on stage and film productions notwithstanding my full time job of soccer mom to 6 extraordinary kiddos (two of whom are now TCA alum) whom I raise with my life partner and hubby of 23 years, Jeff! (He’s amazing!) In my spare time he supports me caring for our family while I volunteer for Delco’s Blue Army which is a Citizen’s Corps providing emergency and disaster recovery relief. Originally a Philly girl, we’ve lived in Chester, Pa for the past decade. Not only do I love God’s Word, I’m passionate about applying it to all areas of life as I’ve profoundly experienced Jesus’s power to bring change within my own life. I seek to extend that same Hope to others. Hiking, biking, boating and caring for furry friends are some of my favorite activities but anything that draws me into God’s marvelous creation whether it’s outdoor grandeur or indoor calm with my loves is my happy place. Put a little ginger in my water and a power salad with a whole fruit smoothie in front of me I’ll keep it going just don’t sit me at a desk and expect me to stay there. I won’t. Can’t wait for whatever adventure the Lord has for us together this year! He is so good to us. All the time.

I have taught for 14 years, but only three of those years fall under, “Christian education.” 11 other years have been committed to the public school systems of Philadelphia and Chester, PA. I received my BA in Primary/Early Childhood Education from Temple University with a focus on English. I then went to Tulsa, Oklahoma to receive my MA in theology/church leadership from Oral Roberts University. During my free-time, I like to draw, and I like to write non-fiction and poetry literature.

Lisa Contino

High School Math Teacher

I graduated from TCA in 2006. When I was in 10th grade, I knew I wanted to study mathematics and return to TCA as a high school math teacher. I studied mathematics at Messiah College, graduated in 2010, and began my teaching career in Milford, DE. I’ve taught 5th – 12th grade students in the classroom, through tutoring, and summer school. In 2017, I married my best friend, who sat three pews behind me in my home church, and moved back to Pennsylvania. I taught one year in inner-city Wilmington, DE and then in 2018, I was blessed by the Lord to return back to TCA to teach, as I had always wanted. It means so much to me to teach the content I love at the school I love. This summer I gave birth to my beautiful son, Sebastian. He’s currently 4 months old and 23 pounds (he’s a big dude!), and loves to play! I am excited to return to school (though I will miss my little boy, but he’s in good hands with his grandparents :)) and see my students! Thank you for the privilege of teaching your children – they are a blessing and joy to instruct!

Sharon Curbison

Executive Assistant

To say that my family loves Christian education would be an understatement. I am very excited for the opportunity to work at TCA. My family has been very involved with TCA for as long as I can remember. My sister, brother and I all attended from K-12, and I am so thankful for all that I learned in that time. My niece and nephew also attended and graduated from TCA. My mom and aunt were very involved with the Hearth Sorority and my dad served on the board and was involved with the school for over 42 years. My husband Dan graduated from a rival Christian Academy. Recently, he also served on the TCA board. He currently works at Merck Pharmaceutical Company.

We have twin boys, Blake, and Brayden, who are currently in third grade. I received my B.S. in psychology/human services from Liberty University. I have worked for a drug and alcohol in-patient program for mothers and their children where I taught prevention and ran the daycare, along with facilitating parenting classes. I then moved on to work as a care manager for the elderly. For the last 13 years, I worked in an administrative position with an in-home care agency.

Ryan Davis

Campus Chaplain

I’m excited to be here at TCA. I’ve worked in IT and Networking for the last 10 years and I’ve worked with Graphic Design and Live Music Production for the last 4 years. I’ve been married to my wonderful wife, Emily, for the last 6 years and we have a beautiful 2 year old daughter, Melody. Although I love graphic design and music, my other passion is sneakers, so please, let’s have a conversation if you’re into them as well.

Tracy Doorly

Front Office

This year is my 13th year being involved in some way at The Christian Academy. I started out volunteering in the classroom, the office, going on field trips, helping teachers, prayer group meeting, etc.. I now have the best job -working in the school office for 5 years! My husband John and I discovered TCA when our oldest was in middle school. Since then we have sent all 4 of our kids to TCA- with 3 already graduated and the youngest a senior. It has been a huge blessing as a family to be apart of the TCA family and see our kids thrive here. One of my favorite things to do now with time off is visit two of my children who have moved away to amazing places to visit- Colorado and Massachusetts.

Deb Dutton

PK-12 Principal, Elementary Lead

I have a long history with TCA where I have been a student, a parent, a teacher and now an administrator. I have had the privilege of seeing TCA from many angles which has only deepened my love for the school community. I graduated from West Chester University with a degree in Elementary Education and received a Master degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Cairn University. I taught first grade before my husband and I started our family. I chose to stay home and with my four children until my youngest son was ready to come to school. I was excited to return to TCA as a middle school teacher. Coming to TCA each day brings joy to my life through the daily interactions and relationships with the students and my colleagues. I love the freedom to share God’s truths openly with the students and pray for them daily. While I enjoy reading on the beach, I also love to spend time with my family at our cabin in Potter County. I am a hometown girl when it comes to sports as I love watching the Eagles, Sixers and Phillies! In my role now as the elementary principal, it’s exciting to watch the growth that happens as the students embrace the truths they are being taught in the classrooms. I believe TCA creates an environment where all students can find value in the gifts God has blessed them with and I am grateful to be a part of that process.

I am a 2004 graduate from The Christian Academy. I am married to my high school sweetheart, who also graduated from TCA. We have three children all of which will be attending TCA this year and I am blessed that I will be able to share this time with them, while also working for TCA.  I graduated from Wilmington University with a B.S in Psychology. I love going to the shore with my family and spending time with friends. I am thrilled to be a part of the Student Support Team where I will be helping the elementary school students with social emotional learning. I will also be providing the student who need additional education support and enrichment. I am excited to see what God has in store for me this year.

Dawn Force

2nd Grade Teacher

I have the privilege this year of teaching second grade, which I taught before I had children of my own. I have 5 kids (3 of whom graduated from TCA) and have been married for 31 years. In my spare time, I enjoy a good movie or book, and listening to or singing along to music. Besides being a teacher at TCA, I am also alumni and was blessed with wonderful teachers who loved the Lord and prepared me well for college and beyond. I also came to know the Lord as my personal Savior during my first year at TCA in BIble class, so TCA has always been a vital part of my life.

Mandy Gaudiuso

Elementary Aide

I am so excited to become a part of the TCA family. My husband graduated from TCA in ’87 and it was just understood that we would send our children here when the time came. Our son will be starting kindergarten this year and our niece will begin as a 5th grader. I am looking forward to helping the Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers as an Aide this year and cannot wait to see these little ones grow. I am a transplant from Mississippi and moved here in 2009. My husband and I met through martial arts and have a deep respect for our training. We got married in 2012 and have 2 cats and 1 dog. I love my Saviour, music, putting things together (think IKEA!), fall weather, and Starbucks.

Kim Graefe

High School English Teacher

I am so excited to join the faculty at TCA! This is my 22nd year as a teacher, and I have been fortunate enough to spend 12 of those years working in Christian education. I have taught pre-school through college, but teaching High School English has always been my passion (I love grammar, my favorite punctuation mark is the semi-colon, and in my free time, I like to diagram sentences!). I received my B. A. in Speech Communications from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and have a Master’s degree in Education from West Chester University. My husband, Paul, is an advisor in the Graduate College of Technology at Wilmington University, as well as a pastor. He and I both also teach at WilmU. We have a daughter, Piper, who graduated high school in 2020 and will major in Business and Psychology at WilmU this fall. Our family also includes two rescue pit bulls, Pee Wee and Pax.

Erin Gray

High School Math Teacher

I joined the TCA family through marriage in 2003.  My husband Bill is a TCA graduate; my mother-in-law first hired me as a math teacher that same year.  I love TCA dearly because of God’s presence and the amazing faculty and staff that He places here each year.  I received my undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2000.  Since then I have taught or tutored every math class from 6th grade math through AP Calculus.  I enjoy solving problems and I love the orderliness and predictability of math.  I also love being with high school students!  When I’m not at TCA, you might find me working out at the YMCA, attempting to feed my family of six, or in the mini van running to soccer practices or dance classes.  I might also be walking our sweet Cavapoo, reading, or taking a nap!

Michelle Griffith

Pre-K Teacher

I am both humbled and delighted to be teaching in Pre-K at The Christian Academy. I have been married to my husband Al for 24 years and together we have five children, ranging in age from 4 to 18, all of whom have been students here. I have a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries from Grove City College and have been serving in children’s ministry for 28 years. It has brought me great joy to be able to teach all of my children how to read – one of the ways God has allowed us to explore and enjoy the world around us. I enjoy watching movies with my kids, reading a classic or good spy novel, mid-morning hot coffee, and Sunday naps. Many things make me cry, and even more things make me laugh. God is good.

Joyce Haseltine

Classroom Aide

I first came to TCA as a second grade student, and have been assisting elementary teachers since middle school, when I chose Teacher’s Aide for the Friday afternoon activity period. I love used book shopping with my husband Todd. I will want to lay eyes on every book in the store, but you’re most likely to find me in the Biography/Memoir and YA aisles. One of my quarantine purchases was a beautiful lap harp, so I’ve been enjoying learning to pluck out some of my favorite songs. My son Micah (a prolific reader himself) graduated from TCA in 2018 and is happy to be back on campus this fall at Cedarville University.

Rod Haseltine

Athletic Director, Upper School Boy's PE Teacher

I have been part of TCA for a long time. I went to TCA from pre-K to 12th grade (minus my eighth grade year) and then started teaching at TCA right after college. Lynn and I have been married for 29 incredible years. My oldest son, Brit, graduated from TCA and now works at NAVSEA (a department of the Navy). Lindsay, my only daughter, also graduated from TCA and is now a junior at Messiah University. Colton (10th grade) and Jackson (8th grade) still attend TCA. I am the athletic director and I believe athletics is another avenue to honor the Lord with the abilities He has given us. I am looking forward to seeing the returning students and meeting the new ones.

I’m a host at heart and love that I have an opportunity to come alongside our new families and make them feel at home at TCA. My favorite things include having breakfast with my husband, Corey, going on long walks with our goldendoodle Lady, and redecorating our apartment every other weekend (please pray for my husband). You’ll find me running around TCA, coffee in hand, with a smile on my face. Come say hello!

Tracey Pritchard

Head of School

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Head of School at The Christian Academy. I attended The Christian Academy as a student for 12 years and I don’t know where I would be today without the influence of the Christian teachers, friends, and families that poured into me as I was growing up. I have a varied professional background as a teacher, administrator, school counselor, board member, college professor, college administrator, and head of school. My husband is an assistant athletic director, P.E. teacher, and a head football coach. We have two children. Our oldest son is 25 and is an engineer. He is married and his wife is a teacher in our preschool program at TCA. Our youngest son is 24 and is in the production industry. We have three dogs Lexey, Gracey, and Bailey, and I would have many more if my husband didn’t put a moratorium on the dog acquiring activities. I love animals (especially dogs), the beach, reading, watching TV, hanging out with friends, and pre-COVID, we loved to cruise (yes, on a boat). I am grateful to be serving the families and students at TCA.

Eunhee Roberts

Kindergarten Teacher

Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Eunhee completed her undergraduate work in English Literature & Language, then worked as an English instructor for both Hansol Education, teaching young children, and Kimberly-Clark, teaching staff. Later work with Korean orphans compelled her to move to the United States in 2001 to pursue graduate work in Christian Education & Family Therapy. After obtaining her masters, she spent several years as the Elementary Children’s Director for a large Korean church in Maryland. After meeting and marrying her husband, she moved to Pennsylvania and worked for a traditional preschool for one year before taking a position at a Philadelphia Montessori school, teaching preschool and kindergarten students over a 4-year span. She later obtained her M. Ed in Early Childhood Education with Montessori Certification. She is excited to pour her training, decades of teaching experience, and love for children into The Christian Academy.

When she isn’t busy teaching, studying, or crafting homemade classroom materials, she and her husband enjoy eating ethnic food, traveling, and mountain hiking.
