FACULTY & STAFF

Elementary School Faculty

Cheri Andrews

Physical Education Teacher

I’ve been at TCA for several years after teaching developmental reading to middle school students in Indiana. I graduated from Taylor University with a degree in Health and Physical Education and a minor in English and have done graduate work at West Chester University. I love coming to work every day because every day is different with its own challenges and joys. Every student that has crossed my path is unique and is valued in God’s eyes and I am grateful to have watched them grow through their struggles into Godly caring adults. How fun it has been to now get to teach some of their children! I appreciate working alongside teachers with a caring heart for every child that enters the doors of TCA. I’m an animal lover and my 96 year old mother and I share my home with Samuel Joseph, a 1 year old puppy, and cats Trooper, Peaches and Buster Allen. The rest of my family live in South Carolina. The beach is my happy place but lately Gatlinburg, TN has stolen my heart with its hometown charm and beauty. In my free time, I enjoy going to yard sales, landscaping, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and any type of water sports. I’m a huge college sports fan and my teams are the Florida Gators and Clemson Tigers. I’m looking forward to being back in person with the students and teachers!

Deb Dutton

PK-12 Principal, Elementary Lead

I have a long history with TCA where I have been a student, a parent, a teacher and now an administrator. I have had the privilege of seeing TCA from many angles which has only deepened my love for the school community. I graduated from West Chester University with a degree in Elementary Education and received a Master degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Cairn University. I taught first grade before my husband and I started our family. I chose to stay home and with my four children until my youngest son was ready to come to school. I was excited to return to TCA as a middle school teacher. Coming to TCA each day brings joy to my life through the daily interactions and relationships with the students and my colleagues. I love the freedom to share God’s truths openly with the students and pray for them daily. While I enjoy reading on the beach, I also love to spend time with my family at our cabin in Potter County. I am a hometown girl when it comes to sports as I love watching the Eagles, Sixers and Phillies! In my role now as the elementary principal, it’s exciting to watch the growth that happens as the students embrace the truths they are being taught in the classrooms. I believe TCA creates an environment where all students can find value in the gifts God has blessed them with and I am grateful to be a part of that process.

Dawn Force

2nd Grade Teacher

I have the privilege this year of teaching second grade, which I taught before I had children of my own. I have 5 kids (3 of whom graduated from TCA) and have been married for 31 years. In my spare time, I enjoy a good movie or book, and listening to or singing along to music. Besides being a teacher at TCA, I am also alumni and was blessed with wonderful teachers who loved the Lord and prepared me well for college and beyond. I also came to know the Lord as my personal Savior during my first year at TCA in BIble class, so TCA has always been a vital part of my life.

My husband Joel and I met in college, moved from Pittsburgh and Chicago to start our life in Southeastern, Pa. As a family, we love to listen to music and be outdoors. Erin Gray

High School Math Teacher

I joined the TCA family through marriage in 2003.  My husband Bill is a TCA graduate; my mother-in-law first hired me as a math teacher that same year.  I love TCA dearly because of God’s presence and the amazing faculty and staff that He places here each year.  I received my undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2000.  Since then I have taught or tutored every math class from 6th grade math through AP Calculus.  I enjoy solving problems and I love the orderliness and predictability of math.  I also love being with high school students!  When I’m not at TCA, you might find me working out at the YMCA, attempting to feed my family of six, or in the mini van running to soccer practices or dance classes.  I might also be walking our sweet Cavapoo, reading, or taking a nap!

Michelle Griffith

Pre-K Teacher

I am both humbled and delighted to be teaching in Pre-K at The Christian Academy. I have been married to my husband Al for 24 years and together we have five children, ranging in age from 4 to 18, all of whom have been students here. I have a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries from Grove City College and have been serving in children’s ministry for 28 years. It has brought me great joy to be able to teach all of my children how to read – one of the ways God has allowed us to explore and enjoy the world around us. I enjoy watching movies with my kids, reading a classic or good spy novel, mid-morning hot coffee, and Sunday naps. Many things make me cry, and even more things make me laugh. God is good.

Eunhee Roberts

Kindergarten Teacher

Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Eunhee completed her undergraduate work in English Literature & Language, then worked as an English instructor for both Hansol Education, teaching young children, and Kimberly-Clark, teaching staff. Later work with Korean orphans compelled her to move to the United States in 2001 to pursue graduate work in Christian Education & Family Therapy. After obtaining her masters, she spent several years as the Elementary Children’s Director for a large Korean church in Maryland. After meeting and marrying her husband, she moved to Pennsylvania and worked for a traditional preschool for one year before taking a position at a Philadelphia Montessori school, teaching preschool and kindergarten students over a 4-year span. She later obtained her M. Ed in Early Childhood Education with Montessori Certification. She is excited to pour her training, decades of teaching experience, and love for children into The Christian Academy.

When she isn’t busy teaching, studying, or crafting homemade classroom materials, she and her husband enjoy eating ethnic food, traveling, and mountain hiking.

I am a coffee loving Eagles fan who enjoys hanging with my family, jogging, leading  fitness classes, or outside enjoying the weather.
