FACULTY & STAFF

Ryan Sams

High School Spanish Teacher

I am so blessed and grateful the Lord has given me the opportunity to do what I love… teach. I have taught Spanish and ESL for 8 years both in the classroom and in a private one-on-one setting. I am originally from Southern California. Spending two years teaching in Spain, after undergrad, solidified my love for teaching. Watching my students progress from the basics to proficiency brings me so much joy. I love seeing their growth and their love for learning languages. My undergrad degree is in business administration from Oklahoma Christian University and I received my MBA from The Master’s University. In my spare time I love reading, the theatre, traveling, and learning about different cultures. I enjoy live music, especially jazz  & classical.  Playing chess and spending time with friends over a good cup of coffee is always at the top of my list. I am eager to learn how to play golf.

Colin Sareyka

Upper School Bible and Math Teacher

I am so excited to be joining the TCA family. For years, I have observed how God has used this school for His glory and now I get to be a part of that amazing mission. This will be my first year in education and I could not be more excited for the amazing opportunity to teach Middle School Math and Bible. I graduated high school from Gloucester County Christian School, an old rival of TCA, and received my B.S. from Messiah College in criminal justice and politics. My wife Grace and I live in Upper Chichester with our dog, Zeus. We are expecting our first child in September!

Holly Spitale

1st Grade Teacher

I am so excited to be a part of the TCA faculty. My twenty plus year career has been spent in public education. I have taught K-3rd grades, but spent the majority of those years in first grade.   I love first grade, and can’t wait to see what God has in store for this year!  I can’t wait to  be able to speak the name of Jesus freely and give Him all the glory for his faithfulness to me.

I am a coffee loving Eagles fan who enjoys hanging with my family, jogging, leading  fitness classes, or outside enjoying the weather.

I am excited to begin this great adventure with my husband of 18 years Mike , my son Caleb, who will be a freshman  at TCA and my two daughters Madison and Kiley who will be in 7th and 6th grade this year.

LaWanda Swan

Director of Student Services and Professional School Counselor

I attended TCA from the 1st-12th grade.  I have served as a Board of Trustees Member and now have the privilege to serve as the Director of Student Services as well as the School Counselor.   I am grateful to The Lord for this full circle experience after being in the education field for almost 15 years.  To encourage others in their God given abilities and giftings and to help them navigate the obstacles of life is one of my passions.  I have served in many ministry capacities including, preaching and teaching the Word of God, church planting, pastoring, hosting a radio show, and singing on various Praise Teams.  I am married to Darryl, and together we have 6 children, one son-in-law, 3 granddaughters and one dog, Browneye.  With my husband, I have been blessed to be an entrepreneur and have several businesses.  We are licensed in the financial services industry and love helping people change their personal economies for the better.  I enjoy watching sports, especially football; and yes, my team is the Philadelphia Eagles.  Fly Eagles Fly!  Almost daily, you can find me drinking a hot cup of tea and reading.  I love meeting The Lord near the water, fall colors, butterflies, hearts, music and singing.  I thank God for His faithfulness!!

Jon Thompson

Director of Advancement

I’m extremely grateful that my parents recognized the value of a Christian education and made sacrifices to send me to TCA from the time I was in Kindergarten. Following my time at TCA, I went to Eastern University and after graduation I found my way back to TCA in short order. I’ve been working here since 2002 in a variety of positions, and currently I’m serving as the Academic Advisor and Director of Development. I love sports of any kind and currently am coaching the middle school boy’s soccer and the varsity boy’s baseball teams. While a student at TCA, I met my wife Jessica, and we have now have two sons who both attend TCA.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at jthompson@tca-pa.org if there’s anything I can help you with.

Christine Uzele

Upper School Art Teacher

I can’t believe this will be my 10th year teaching art at TCA! Art has always been a part of my life since I was two years old doodling on my Mom’s bulletin at church. I received my degree in art at the University of Delaware and now painting and drawing and sharing my art as a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ is what I do. While I was on a missions trip in Kenya I met my wonderful husband Shem and we wrote letters back and forth for 2 1/2 years before we got married 27 years ago! We have 3 amazing children and live in Wilmington Delaware. I love teaching art and I love my family, but most of all I love Jesus!

Diana Valles

School Nurse

I am excited to be a new member of the TCA community. I have worked as a registered nurse with college age students for the past 10 years. I graduated with a B.A. in psychology from Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY and received a B.S. in nursing from Eastern University. I am passionate about holistic health and truly treasure the opportunities the field of nursing offers as I live out my passion. My favorite past times are cooking, working out, reading, nature walks, spending time with family and friends-and the beach (the best place on earth!). I have two children,  both of whom are attending TCA this year. As a family, we are excited to experience a new chapter of life together. I look forward for the opportunity to support the health and wellbeing of the students as they are being equipped to become whom God called them to be.

Eric Wildermuth

High School Bible and History Teacher

I have been working in Christian education since 2016 after a year at Starbucks. I graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 2015 with a B.A. in Bible Secondary Education. For five years, I taught middle school history at a school in suburban St. Louis where I also spent two years as an administrator. My wife, Janel, and I are happy to be back in Delco with our two cats and our first child on the way. I am a huge fan of Philadelphia sports, especially the Eagles. When I am not teaching, I love to spend time camping, hiking, kayaking or anything else in nature.
