Ways to Financially Support TCA
Gifts of cash are the most common form of support to TCA. Checks should be made payable to The Christian Academy and sent directly to: The Christian Academy, 4301 Chandler Drive, Brookhaven, PA 19015. TCA also now has the online capability to handle ACH transactions. So if you would like to give through your bank’s checking account, you can do so through TCA’s secure giving portal.
You can make donations to The Christian Academy using the following credit cards:
- American Express
For many donors, gifts of stock offer the opportunity to save on taxes and invest in TCA at the same time. Outright gifts of appreciated securities held more than one year are not subject to capital gains tax on the increase in the value of the stock. Secondly, donors receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift.
Many companies with matching gift programs contribute to independent educational institutions like TCA. Most offer a “one-to-one” match, but some will double-match an employee’s contribution, and others even triple. Annual Giving totals of corporate matching boost TCA’s Annual Fund thousand’s of dollars every year. To secure a matching gift, donors should procure a matching gift form from their company (usually the personnel office), complete the employees’ section and mail the form to TCA, along with their Annual Giving gift. The Development Office will certify receipt of the gift and return the form to the company.
Because tuition does not cover the annual operating expenses of the Academy (now over $3,400,000), TCA depends on each year, as do all independent schools, on tax-deductible gifts, contributed to Annual Giving by alumni/ae, parents (of current students and graduates), grandparents, faculty and friends to help meet these expenses. Funds raised for Annual Giving account for approximately 6% of the school’s total income and are immediately spendable. The success of Annual Giving is absolutely vital to keep TCA at the forefront of Christian education. From competitive faculty salaries to financial assistance, support for arts and athletic programs, and maintenance of facilities and grounds, the resources provided by Annual Giving help ensure the tradition of excellence that the Lord has blessed us with.
While unrestricted gifts (Annual Fund) provide the most flexibility, donors to Annual Giving now have the option of designating their gifts – up to budgeted amounts – to any opportunity in the catalog of the Development Directory.
Crusader Scholarship Fund
Our Crusader Fund is a program set up where families can sponsor a TCA student to help them to be able to afford tuition at TCA. These donations are normally anonymous and can either be a one-time gift or a recurring donation.
COVID 19 Relief
Many families have been impacted by COVID 19, so we have set up an additional giving option where families can make a donation that will go to provide some financial relief to families who are struggling to make tuition payments due to COVID 19.
New Online Giving updates
4/23/2019: In an effort to make online giving/tuition payments easier for those in our TCA community, we have changed the giving portal by which we make these transactions. TCA now accepts both credit card and ACH (checking acct.) online payments. It should be noted that automatic payments, payment history, and saving your payment methods are still available options, but will require you to register a new account as of 4/23/2019. TCA thanks you for your flexibility with this change and apologizes for any inconvenience.
