“"I love that God is at the center of all we do.”
What do you love about TCA?
I love that God is at the center of all we do.
How do you teach a Christian Worldview in your classes at TCA? (Please provide some examples)
In the elementary, I teach the kids that language comes from God and how we use it is important. I also teach them to invite God into every aspect of their lives and into our classroom each day.
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
I believe that God has gifted me with the ability to bring joy, laughter and curiosity into my teaching. This provides a safe space in my classroom. I also grew up in a broken home and sometimes when the moment calls for it, I will share from that experience how God can redeem anything and anyone. I draw from that experience to point the way to hope.
If you could describe TCA in one word, what would it be?
Caring
Tell the one story that best reflects your experience with the TCA community:
Wow, that is a hard question, so I will put it under one heading called student interaction: When I intentionally look into a student’s eyes and ask from my heart, “How are you today?” and wait for that eye contact so that they know that I truly see them, I love that millisecond of silence that passes between us. It is the unspoken language of the heart that words cannot express. What I hope they see in my eyes is someone who is safe, someone who is extending the love of Jesus to them in that moment.
