Overview of Visual Arts, Drama & Music

At The Christian Academy, we believe that the fine arts are a powerful way to reflect God's creativity and beauty. Two art classrooms provide the space and tools for students from elementary through high school to study drawing, painting, sculpture and photography. The focus is on discovering and developing talents while remembering that creativity is a gift from God. Our students’ work is regularly recognized in regional art shows.

Our theatre program uses a 700‑seat auditorium for school productions like Mary Poppins, Aladdin Jr. and High School Musical. Students learn acting and stagecraft and work together on everything from set design to performance.

Music education takes place in a dedicated music classroom. Students participate in worship bands, choirs and music theory classes, gaining experience with instruments and vocals. Performances are held throughout the year as part of chapel services and special community events.

These facilities and programs make it possible for every student at TCA to explore visual arts, drama and music in a Christ‑centered setting. The fine arts are not just an academic subject but are an integral part of who we are as a Christian community.

Award-Winning Visual Arts

At The Christian Academy, you'll find an award-winning visual arts program. In middle and high schooll, the program is suited for both the experienced artist looking to hone specific skills or the novice artist dabbling in the basics. In the elementary school, students are exposed to the basics and begin exploring different art mediums. At both levels, the focus of each lesson is designed to highlight how creativity is a gift from our Creator, guiding students to use their talents as a reflection of God's image in them.

As a testament to the talent of the artists and the guidance of their teachers, regional art shows consistently recognize TCA students for the quality of their work.

The TCA drama department takes immense pride in crafting unique and inspiring productions that showcase the God-given talent of our 6th-12th grade students. Through the art of storytelling, we strive to illuminate timeless values, promote empathy, and foster a deep understanding of the human experience as rooted in our Christian beliefs. The collaborative nature of each production encourages students to develop not only their artistic talents but also their spiritual journey, as they work together to produce spectacular performs that resonate with their audience.

Students have a variety of elective opportunities that they can explore during school hours to continue mastering their skills.

TCA offers a variety of musical opportunities for students to explore and develop their musical talents. Our worship team and choir highlight our commitment to musical excellence. The worship team plays a key role in leading weekly chapel services, fostering a sense of community through music. Students of all ages can participate in music activities, from preschool music time to music theory classes in the upper school.
