Overview

Here's a brief overview of what we have in store for your child during their time at Shooting Stars:

Weekly Pool Days: Beat the summer heat with refreshing pool days. Our campers get to splash around, swim, and enjoy a range of water activities, all under the supervision of Knowlton Swim Club certified lifeguards. Pool days are held at Knowlton Swim Club.
Field Trips: Adventure awaits as we embark on exciting weekly field trips to local attractions and destinations. From museums to parks and everything in between, these trips offer new experiences and opportunities for exploration. Previous trips have been to Oasis Family Fun Center, Legoland and Kaylamar Nickel, just to name a few.
Arts & Crafts: Unleash your child's creativity in our arts and crafts activities. They'll have the chance to express themselves through various artistic projects, making colorful and imaginative creations to take home. Campers can explore different art forms and techniques, helping them develop their skills and appreciate the beauty of creativity.
Science: Foster a love for learning by engaging in hands-on science experiments. Our science activities spark curiosity and allow campers to explore the wonders of the natural world in an engaging and fun way.
Games: Outdoor and indoor games are a fundamental part of our camp experience. We provide a wide range of sports, team games, and fun challenges that promote physical activity and teamwork.
Bible: For families seeking a faith-based experience, we offer a Bible lesson each week. Campers have the opportunity to learn about important values and stories in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Sample Schedule

Drop-Off/Pick-up Procedures

Campers need to arrive between 7:45 - 8:30 am and must be picked up between 3:00 - 3:15 pm. The check-in (drop-off) area for the camp will be through our main entrance, through the canopy, in front of TCA. For campers who are late, you are to report to the main entrance and contact a camp director. The camper must be accompanied by a parent for drop-off.

The pick-up area will be in our lower parking lot at our blue playground door through the yellow gates. The pick-up door will be the same car-line procedure followed during the school year. This is a line of cars in our playground area, through the yellow gates. Please arrive between 3:00-3:15 and enter the carline. Please be patient and wait to pick up your camper. They will be walked to your vehicle.

Late Pick-up Policy

We are aware unexpected circumstances may happen and ask that you contact us when you know you are going to be late. In the event that you are unable to pick your child up at the scheduled end time for camp, the charges for late pick-up are as follows. A late-fee of $1.00 per minute past 3:15 pm will be charged. Any pickup time after 3:30 will incur a total fee of $30 plus an additional dollar for every minute past 3:30. If there is a high probability that you will be late on a regular basis, then we encourage you to sign up for our aftercare program, if and when available.

What is SSSC's Behavior Policy?

SSSC's Behavioral Policy is designed to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children in our programs. We believe in promoting positive behaviors, setting clear expectations, and maintaining open communication with both children and their parents or guardians. Our behavioral policy includes a progressive approach to addressing behavioral challenges:

Verbal Warning: When a child's behavior deviates from our established rules and guidelines, our staff will provide a verbal warning. This serves as an initial reminder of our behavioral expectations.
Written Warning: If a child's behavior continues to disrupt the program or compromises the safety and well-being of others after a verbal warning, a written warning will be issued. This step documents the concern and the actions taken to address it.
Dismissal: In cases where a child's behavior persists despite verbal and written warnings, they may be asked to be dismissed from the program temporarily or permanently, depending on the severity and frequency of the behavioral issues. Dismissal is a last resort and is intended to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
